Requirements of Damping Vibration

●The natural frequency of the engine mounted on the Idolaters should be as low as possible,relative to the forcing frequency.

●The amplitude of vibration at reduced engine speed,when an exciting force may resonate with the Isolated mounted engine frequency , should be limited.

●No Internal Resonances should occur in the Idolaters mounting in the range of frequencies over which insulation is required.

●Athwartship movement of engine resulting from torque reactions and rolling of vessel should be controlled within limits.
